Terms of use
Houma House Elevation is a referral service. These terms say what that means for you, for the contractors you hear from and for the information on this site. Updated October 30, 2026.
The short version
We pass requests on. Contractors do the work and make you offers. By using the site you agree to these terms.
What this service is
Houma House Elevation is a free quote-request service. You send a request, and we pass it to independent contractors, surveyors and other businesses that work in your parish. We don't lift, level, repair, rebuild or survey houses, and we don't employ the people who do.
Contractors are independent
Each business that contacts you acts for itself. It is responsible for its license, insurance, work, prices, schedule and contract with you. Any agreement to do work is between you and that business, and we aren't a party to it. Check licenses and insurance yourself; how it works lists the steps.
No guarantee of quotes or results
We can't promise that a contractor will contact you, that you'll receive a certain number of quotes, how fast, or at what price. We also can't promise the quality of any contractor's work, or that your project will be permitted, approved or funded.
Quotes and estimates are not offers from us
Nothing on this site is a price or an offer to do work. Prices come from contractors, and what binds a contractor is what it puts in writing. The height calculator turns numbers you type into a rough figure; it isn't a survey, an engineering design or a flood determination.
Information here is general
The pages describe how elevation, lifting and leveling jobs and the related programs generally work. They are not legal, engineering, insurance or grant advice, and they are not a determination of your flood zone, your required height, or your eligibility for any grant or program. Programs, rules and application windows change. Confirm what applies to you with your parish permit office, the program itself, your insurance agent and the contractor.
What you agree to
Send information that is true as far as you know, and only for a house you own or are authorized to ask about. By sending a request you allow us to pass what you wrote to contractors as described in the privacy note.
Limits
The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for what contractors, surveyors or program administrators do or don't do, or for decisions you make using this site's information. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can't be limited by agreement.
Links and changes
We may link to government and program pages we don't control. We may update these terms, and the date at the top will change when we do. Questions? Use the email button in the footer.
